Clinical Pathology Intern

Sofia, BulgariaJob ID: INT-001

Digital Pathology Solutions is inviting applications for an unpaid educational internship in clinical pathology. The internship is intended for medical students who want structured exposure to how pathology teams describe workflows, review scientific evidence, and document software-related observations in a digital pathology setting.

The intern will work on clearly scoped learning activities under supervision. Activities may include reading workflow documentation, preparing non-identifying summaries of publicly available literature, mapping terminology used in pathology reports, and helping organize educational observations about review processes. The work is observational and educational; it does not involve medical practice, patient care, diagnosis, treatment, or access to patient information.

Learning activities

  • Review public educational material on histopathology, biomarker assessment, and digital slide workflows.
  • Create structured glossaries that connect clinical pathology terms with plain-language explanations.
  • Compare documented workflow steps and identify places where instructions could be clearer for laboratory users.
  • Support supervised preparation of non-clinical notes, checklists, and literature summaries.
  • Participate in review meetings to explain sources, assumptions, and open questions in the assigned material.
  • Maintain careful versioned notes so that educational work can be reviewed and corrected by a supervisor.

Required eligibility

  • At least a fourth-year medical student at the time of application.
  • Active enrollment in an accredited medical university or medical faculty.
  • Genuine interest in clinical pathology, histopathology, laboratory medicine, or digital health.
  • Ability to read scientific and technical material carefully in English; Bulgarian communication is also useful.
  • Respect for confidentiality, source attribution, data minimization, and supervised working practices.
  • Reliable written communication and willingness to ask for clarification before recording an uncertain statement.
