Histopathology Literature Intern

The Histopathology Literature Internship supports a medical student's development in reading and organizing technical information about tissue morphology, digital pathology, and laboratory workflows. The intern will practice concise medical writing, source checking, and transparent handling of uncertainty under the guidance of a supervisor.

The placement may include preparing annotated bibliographies, checking citations, comparing terminology across sources, and turning complex material into clearly scoped educational notes. It is not a clinical service and is not a route to medical practice. It does not include patient contact, patient access, clinical decisions, diagnosis, treatment, or confidential health data.

Learning activities

• Read and classify peer-reviewed and authoritative sources related to histopathology and digital pathology.
• Prepare annotated bibliographies that summarize purpose, method, findings, limitations, and relevance.
• Check references, dates, terminology, and the accuracy of paraphrased statements.
• Help draft bilingual educational outlines while preserving the meaning and limits of the source material.
• Identify where a text needs a qualification, a primary source, or review by a medical subject-matter expert.
• Maintain clear editorial records for revisions, open questions, and supervisor decisions.

Required eligibility

• At least a fourth-year medical student at the time of application.
• Active enrollment in an accredited medical university or medical faculty.
• Interest in histopathology, anatomy, laboratory medicine, oncology, or medical communication.
• Ability to read carefully, paraphrase accurately, and preserve the limits of a scientific source.
• Strong written English and willingness to work with Bulgarian medical terminology.
• Dependable organization, respect for editorial review, and careful handling of restricted material.

Important participation terms

This is a 0 BGN supervised educational placement under a written university-company arrangement. It includes no productive work, patient care, clinical decisions, or independent access to any systems, materials, or information. It is not clinical employment or medical practice.
